Phone solicitations can be very intrusive, and due to the fact that there are so many, most phone consumers look for ways to avoid these calls. Thus, they are permitted to contact you, even if you make the request for them to stop, as they are not required to maintain a do-not-call-list by law. However, most do out of courtesy for phone consumers, so make sure you ask anyway.
All other calls you will be protected from and include:
- Telemarketing calls you have not specifically authorized
- Auto dialled telemarketing calls made to your cell phone
- Automated solicitation messages
- Junk faxes
- Any company that attempts communication with you after you have requested to be taken off their call list (with the exception of non-profits)
